Students will gain an understanding of the American values and the values of Abraham Lincoln through the study of primary source documents.

Students will read or hear biographies about President Lincoln and compare and contrast his life with their life today.

All grades:

Students will use Bloom’s higher level thinking skills such as analysis and synthesis by comparing and contrasting the lives of different Presidents.

Exercising the rights and obligations of citizenship at local, state, national and global levels

As a class students will listen and/or read various biographies about Abraham Lincoln.

Students will brainstorm characteristics of a leader and complete a graphic organizer of these characteristics.

Class graphic organizer about facts learned

Student products reflecting their interpretation of an important character trait of Abraham Lincoln. A rubric will be used to assess.
