Scope/Background/Objective:
Background:
In 2019 CDC/CAR has launched sentinel surveillance for anti-microbial resistance (AMR) in four hospitals of Almaty city of Kazakhstan. The sentinel surveillance is aimed at collecting AMR data and indicator pathogens based on the list of pathogens established by the Central Asian and Eastern European Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance (CAESAR) as well as the implementation protocol aimed at integrating Kazakhstan into the World Health Organization AMR surveillance network. Collected data will be used to inform evidence-based policy and development of the National Action Plan for control and prevention of AMR in Kazakhstan.
There is a need in bacteriologists and epidemiologists with sufficient skills who can provide high quality anti-microbial susceptibility testing and epidemiological analysis of data collected and create reports.
Objectives:
The project will support capacity building of the local public health specialists (e.g. epidemiologists and bacteriologists) in the successful implementation of the AMR surveillance and other planned research activities.
The trained epidemiologists and bacteriologists will serve as principal investigators, collect, analyze data and report to CDC/CAR office on a monthly basis.
Scope
The purpose of this purchase order is to provide logistic support the laboratory specialists, epidemiologists from four sentinel surveillance sites, the National Reference Laboratory and two bacteriologists from Astana and Karagandy conducting AMR:
Arrange and pay fees for study conduction to 14 people (epidemiologists; bactriologists) in accordance with the list provided by CDC /CAR FETP Manager
$100 x 14 people x 6 months = $8,400.00;
Arrange and pay for two three days travel of one bacteriologist from Astana and one bacteriologist from Karagany for monitoring of sentinel sites visits to Almaty.
Air Astana changeable/refundable air tickets are preferable;
Arrange and pay for lodging in Almaty of two monitors from Astana and Karagandy at a three star hotel like Terra;
Arrange and pay M&IE for two AMR monitors from Astana and Karagandy in the amount of $50/day (including travel days) x 4 days x 2 monitors x 2 visits = $800.00;
Arrange and pay consultancy fee for two monitors from Karagandy and Astana
2 monitors x $500;
Arrange and pay fees to 4 laboratory specialists in accordance with the list provided by CDC /CAR FETP Manager $70 x 6 months x 4 specialists = $1,680.00;

The list of AMR study participants and the schedule of reports collection will be provided to the contractor by the CDC/CAR FETP Manager once the Purchase Order is issued.
