THE BARBURY RIDES

AUTUMN RIDE: Sunday 4th September

Start between 10.00 am and 12.30 pm

The rides will take different routes of approximately ten miles across the beautiful grassland of the Marlborough Downs and include about sixty superb optional cross-country jumps. The route will be clearly marked and stewarded.

We would like to thank the landowners of Barbury Castle Estate for allowing us to enjoy their land. Proceeds go to Berks & Bucks Draghounds and Vine and Craven Hunt.

Directions

M4 J15 – A346 to Marlborough (about 7 miles straight road) As you enter the 30 mph zone of Marlborough, just after the golf course at the top of the hill, you will see some traffic islands in the centre of the road, take the right filter and 200 yards further on take the next right to Rockley/Broad Hinton. Barbury Castle Estate is about 3 miles further along this road on your right. DO NOT follow the brown road signs to Barbury Castle from Chiseldon – you will not be able to access the ride from there.

FROM A4 in Marlborough take A346 towards Swindon up steep hill on edge of town. At top of hill turn left towards Rockley and Broad Hinton and 200 yards on take next right to Rockley and Broad Hinton. Barbury Castle Estate is about 3 miles further along this road on your right.

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

The Berks & Bucks Draghounds and the Vine & Craven Hunt Supporters Club, the Owners of the properties and the organisers of this ride accept no responsibility for any accident and/or loss which may occur to participants, onlookers, their property or animals in connection with or arising from this event. It shall be a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the above against any legal action arising from such accident or loss and make his or her own insurance arrangements.

1.	Crash hats and appropriate riding clothes should be worn.
2.	Horses and ponies must be at least four years old.
3.	Children under the age of twelve must be escorted by an adult.
4.	Riders must not deviate from the course under any circumstances. Any rider found riding in a dangerous or reckless manner will be sent home.
5.	No entries will be refunded without a vet’s certificate.
6.	The decision of the organisers on any matter will be final.
7.	Dogs to be kept on leads at all times but preferably left at home.
