Program
Purpose: To provide bicycle and pedestrian safety education to students in the 6th through 8th grades in approximately 10-15 school districts across the state. The program includes training, curriculum, educational materials, evaluation, and support for the Safe Routes to School Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Education Program.
Which districts can apply?
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has provided OSPI with a list of eligable districts that have not previously been funded to do this project. See list at the end of this document.
To ensure eligibility, districts must also have developed walk route plans and offer physical education courses at least once per week at the middle school level.
Note: If your district is not listed but you are interested in this project, please email your contact information, including district name, to [email protected] in case there is an opportunity to expand the pool of target districts.
