New Hire Checklist
Use the following checklist(s) to ensure that the necessary information has been included or provided to Human Resources for all new employees.
B enefits Eligible
The Request for Offer (RFO) has been approved by all required levels for your college/department (including HR) in OJS.
The reference checks have been completed (it is best to get 3 professional references).
A Criminal History Record Investigation (CHRI) has been completed (necessary for all security sensitive positions).
In OJS, the status of all applicants has been updated:
Correctly dispense all interviewed and non-interviewed applicants.
Final candidate in the “Selected Applicant” status.
An offer letter has been extended and accepted in writing (make a copy for later use).
The following items have been prepared to be submitted to HR at least five days before the employee’s first day:
ePAR
Copy of offer letter (via ePAR)
Personal Data Sheet (via ePAR)
Employee has been registered for Registration Orientation and Review (ROAR).
Direct employee to complete I-9 form on or before start date at:
HR Service Center
McElhinney Hall
Room 325
Non-Benefits Eligible
The reference checks have been completed (if necessary).

The following items have been prepared to be submitted to HR at least five days before the employee’s first day:

Employee was notified that the following items are to be completed online via PASS after receiving their employee ID:
Direct deposit setup
W-4 completion
* To be completed in the department only if the employee will not be attending ROAR on the first day of employment.
