R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Linda Barbouche Brooks, who served as a sergeant‑at‑arms during this legislative session, was born in Le Kef, Tunisia, in 1982; and

WHEREAS, Although she arrived in the United States only a few weeks before the beginning of the 78th Texas Legislative Session, Mrs. Brooks adapted quickly to her new home and job, and she has ably performed her duties as an assistant sergeant‑at‑arms for the house members and staff; and

WHEREAS, Married last August in Tunis, this notable young woman plans to pursue her higher education and life in Texas, and she is indeed a welcome addition to the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby commend Linda Barbouche Brooks on her outstanding legislative service; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That the members of this chamber extend greetings to the Barbouche family in Tunisia, including Linda's father, Ferid, her mother, Monia, her sister, Naziha, and her brother, Mohammed; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That the Texas House of Representatives encourage her, on her many future trips back to North Africa, to carry to the Arab world a message of democracy in action in America‑‑Texas‑style; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Brooks as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
