GOAL (PURPOSE OF THE COURSE): The purpose of this course is provide information on communicating with people who have a hearing loss and obtaining services or accommodations to comply with ADA requirements.

The student will be able to recognize the possibility of encountering people with a Hearing Loss.
The student will be able to define the differences between Deaf, deaf, Late Deafened, and Hard of Hearing.
The student will be able to identify accommodations and strategies when communicating with Deaf and Hard of Hearing People.
The student will be able to identify aspects of Deaf Culture and interaction with the Deaf community.
The student will learn of resources and contact information that is available.
