On August 4, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Committee met to discuss The Use of Funds Plan, Project 795. The following items were discussed:

To help prevent the spread of Covid 19, we plan to make every effort to social distance as much as possible in all classrooms, cafeteria, gymnasium and transportation vehicles. We plan to sanitize many times each day, during the school day, before and after. Busses and vehicles will be sanitized daily after every trip. We will have mask available to all students, visitors and staff as well as hand sanitizer throughout the campus. All entrances will be locked to visitors and we plan to utilize security cameras and intercom communication for anyone wanting in our facilities. Visitors must have an appointment to enter.

Dewar Public School will allocate 20% of the ESSER III funding to purchase curriculum to help with remediation for the loss of learning due to the outbreak of Covid 19. We will implement strategies to address the impact of learning loss through the use of curriculum remediation within the coursework of all subjects. The committee will meet at least once a year unless it is determined we need to meet more often as the need arises.

Dewar Public School will be allocating the remaining ESSER III funds as follows:

Property Insurance
Workers Comp Insurance
Interactive Boards to help with distance learning
A new 71 passenger bus with A/C to help with social distancing during transportation
A new 15 passenger van to help with transportation of students that may need special attention due to Covid 19
9 HVAC units over the course of 3 years
A new phone/intercom system for communication efforts due to Covid 19
A new security system with cameras
Laptops for faculty to help with teaching with distance learning
Creating a position of Middle School Principal to help with Covid 19 issues in grades 6-8
Creating a position of Assistant Elementary Principal to help with Covid 19 issues in grades PK-5
Cleaning supplies to help with the process of daily sanitization
Utilities to help with after hours cleaning

Dewar Public School ensures their implemented interventions respond to the academic, social, emotional and mental health needs of students by evaluating their ESSER III funds every year or more frequently as needed.
