Research Grants
Grants or
facilities offered for the staff of CMCH are described below:
Two
types of Fluid Research Grant (1. Seed Research Grant, 2. Major
Research Grant) and Core Research Staff position are offered to
support research in our institution. A detailed description of these
facilities are given below:
I. Seed Research Grant
For each research proposal approved for Seed Research
Grant the Research Committee sanctions a maximum amount of Rs.
1,50,000/- per year for expenses on investigation, computer use.
Stationary, printing material and paper should not exceed Rs. 8000/-
of the allocated fluid grant irrespective of the study duration. The
objective of providing the seed grant is to encourage researchers to
do pilot or small studies which then will help to attract external
funding agencies for getting larger grants for further research.
II. Major Research Grant
The
"Major Research Grant" (Rs. 4,00,000 per year for two
years. Stationary, printing material and paper should not exceed Rs.
10,000/- of the allocated Major fluid grant irrespective of the study
duration) is offered for the staff in the cadres- only confirmed
staff members of CMC&H of grade Senior Assistant Professor or
Junior, and Associate Professor below grade 1 eligible.

for Applying for "Major Research Grant"
Only confirmed staff members of CMC&H of Senior Assistant Professor Grade or Junior, Associate Professor below grade 1 are eligible.
They should have applied and received at least one Research Grant or applied for grant from an external agency in the past at least as Co-Principal Investigator.
They should have at least 3 research papers published in National / Inter-national Journals related to this field, preferably indexed.
Those who have been currently actively engaged in research work and have done quality research in the past will be preferred.
Upto 50% of the amount may be used for reimbursing the salary of a Research Fellow.
Extension of the project for one more year may be considered based on the evaluation of the project report.
The research done under this scheme should be used for securing an external grant.
Only one major research grant may be used at a time by the given Principal Investigator.
The grant can be given for a maximum period of two years, with an amount of Rs. 2,00,000/- per year..
Rs. 200,000/- will be provided in the first year and the second installment of Rs 200,000 will be allocated only after the report on the first year is presented to the IRB.
