  1. A Contractor’s Business License Application from the Department of Community Development Office must be obtained before continuing to the other items. If the proposed use is not consistent with the zoning district and building regulations a business license cannot be issued. Please call 757~562~8682 or visit the Building/Zoning Office at 207 West Second Avenue Franklin, VA for more information.

Effective January 1, 2020, a Registration Certificate and/or a Certificate of Incorporation must be issued by the State Corporation Commission (SCC) before filing for a City of Franklin business license. Go to www.scc.virginia.gov/clk to register your business or call toll free for Virginia 866~722~2551 or locally 804~371~9733. Please provide this office with a copy.
