Sunday 9th January, 2.00-3.30 pm, Learning from the past - Island Memories Project
Ms. Nancy Kareroa and Ms. Melinda Pierre, Cook Islands
In the Cook Islands, Small Islands Voice is focusing on a project called 'Island Memories'.  This involves recording on videotape the legends, stories and ways of doing things in the past. Ms Nancy Kareroa and Ms. Melinda Pierre, two young people from Cook Islands, will describe the project, which has started in one of the outer islands, Mauke, and will show excerpts from the video that has been prepared.  There will then be a discussion session.

Monday 10th January, 2.00-3.30 pm, Connecting islands via the internet
Presented by: Mr. Herman Belmar, St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Student representatives from Sookdeo Bissoondoyal Sixth Form College and Gujadhur Raycoomar State Secondary School, Mauritius; Mr. Alain De Comarmond, Seychelles; Ms. Tiare Holm, Palau
The internet has been used successfully to promote discussion on various sustainable development issues between islands in different regions.  Since 2002, students from 40 schools in the Caribbean, AIMS and Pacific regions have been discussing everything from hydroponic agriculture to unemployment.  The session will involve an interactive display of the Youth Internet forum, and students from schools in Mauritius and Seychelles will be present to share experiences.  Other partners from the Caribbean and Pacific regions will also be present.  The session will close with a description of a second internet forum - Small Islands Voice Global Forum - which involves the general public in discussion of issues relating to sustainable development.

Tuesday 11th January, 2.00-3.30 pm, Eco-friendly practices for sustainable living in small islands
Presented by: Professor K. Koshy, Fiji; Mr. Alain De Comarmond, Seychelles; Mr. Herman Belmar and Ms. Nekeshar Gordon, St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Mr. Andy Paul, Trinidad and Tobago; Ms. Nancy Kareroa and Ms. Melinda Pierre, Cook Islands
Small Islands Voice will conduct an interactive session focusing on how communities are taking action, particularly in the area of waste disposal, recycling and public awareness.  Various project activities in Seychelles, Maldives, Fiji, Cook Islands, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be described by island representatives, after which there will be a question and discussion period

Tuesday 11th January, 6.15-7.45 pm, Communities in action - overview of Small Islands Voice activities
Presented by Small Islands Voice partners from Cook Islands, Fiji, Maldives, Mauritius, Palau, Seychelles, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago
Small Islands Voice, an initiative focusing on community action and inter-regional sharing and networking will be presented by the Cook Islands, Fiji, Maldives, Mauritius, Palau, Seychelles, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago.

Thursday 13th January, 10.00-11.30 am, Community visioning in small islands
Presented by: Ms. Tiare Holm, Palau; Mr. Pynee Chellapermal, Mauritius
Westernised methods do not always fit small island communities and it is vital to incorporate traditional methods into future development.  Representatives from Palau will describe an ongoing initiative, Community Visioning, and how it incorporates traditional and cultural practices.   This will be followed by a description of related activities in Mauritius, after which there will be a discussion.

Thursday 13th January, 4.30-6.00 pm, Youth Visioning for Island Living
Presented by youth representatives from Small Island Developing States
Participants from the Youth Visioning initiative will present their declaration and plan of action and there will be an inter-regional panel of youth ready to discuss their perspectives on sustainable development.
