2008 DOTD Jambalaya Cooking Contest Rules

For the 2008 Capital Area United Way Campaign




  1. Cooks supply their own ingredients. Keep all receipts. A receipt will be given for the value of the ingredients for tax purposes.


  1. Cooks must cook for at least 50 servings.


  1. Cooks must furnish their own black iron pots with lid and paddle, burner and bottle.


  1. Jambalaya must be cooked on-site.


  1. Jambalaya becomes property of the DOTD United Way Committee. Jambalaya will be sold as a fund-raiser.


  1. Cooks will be supplied with the appropriate number of plates for the judges. All plates must be delivered to the judge’s area by noon.


  1. Only cooks and helpers in the cooking area.


  1. Trash barrels will be provided for trash. It is the cooks’ responsibility to leave the cooking area clean and free of trash.


  1. NO HAND SAMPLING FROM POTS.


  1. Cooks and helpers MUST be DOTD Employees or DOTD Retirees.


  1. Cooking area will be available by 8:00am.
