Evidence Sheet for Cooking

Information for those Cooking at Home for the skill section of their D of E

Dear D of E Participant,

Congratulations on choosing cooking for the skill section of your D of E, you will have a lot of fun and learn lots! This document is for you to use to put the evidence in to demonstrate that you have been cooking at home.

It is essential that you put together the right evidence to show you have been cooking as if you don’t do it right then you won’t pass the skill section and won’t be able to go on to do the expedition.

There are four key rules to follow:

You have to cook every week.

It doesn’t matter what you cook but you have to show progression over the period of time that you cook for. For example each week you need to be cooking something that is slightly harder or requires different skills or techniques. You can get recipes from books, the internet or your family members.

You have to collect the right evidence every week using the pages below. Follow the instructions at the top of the ‘evidencing page’ below, you have to upload the sheet as evidence to the skill section of your E DofE account EVERY WEEK. If you don’t have an E DofE account yet then email it to me each week – [email protected]

5. IMPORTANT – As mentioned above the next pages have to be completed each week and added as evidence to the skill section of your E D of E account, instructions for how to add them below. You have to upload them every week too, you can’t hand in all the sheets at the end.

The next 2 pages have to be completed and submitted each week, this is how to submit them:

To add this document onto your E DofE account log into your account at www.dofe.org then click on the ‘skill’ section dial then click on ‘add more evidence’ at the bottom. When its says ‘what type of evidence would you like to add’ choose ‘other’ then select the cooking sheet and upload it,
Before you upload it right click on one of the photos in the document and click ‘format picture’ then click ‘compress’ then check the 'all pictures in document’ and click ok. Any problems email me on [email protected].

To insert photos then click inside the box so the cursor appears then click on insert at the top of the page and select ‘ picture’ then select ‘from file’ and find the picture on your computer.
