1 To receive Walla Walla Community College course credit each student will demonstrate course completion by providing proof of approved certificate/completion award. Students may need to recertify for internships, cooperative seminars, job placements, or other opportunities.

2 Courses numbers less than 100 are transcribed as pre-college classes, but do fulfill specific program related requirement for certificate and/or degree completion.

3 Walla Walla Community College requests that high school instructors have a Master’s degree or a specific training/certificate to participate in this articulated course.

4 Students earn transcribed credit for CA110 in 1st year (2 semesters) and CA111, CA112, CA122, CA120, and CA121 in 2nd year (4 semesters) and earn a “B or above” in a high school culinary arts program.

ARTICULATION PROCEDURE

The Student Shall:

  1. Enroll in a listed high school teacher’s CTE Dual Credit class for the academic year stated in this agreement. Students shall not earn “retroactive transcribed credit” for courses taken in previous years unless approved by Walla Walla Community College administration.

  2. Successfully enroll and register for articulated course in the online Washington State Enrollment and Report System, SERS, https://www.ctesers.org/Home .

  3. Complete all required high school CTE course outcomes for the course in which the student is enrolled. The skills taught in the articulated course align with the corresponding WWCC course.

  4. Earn a grade of ‘B’ (3.0) or better in the CTE course. Student who earn a grade of “B minus” or lower will not earn transcribed credit for the corresponding class at WWCC.

  5. If the student chooses to earn transcribed college credit at WWCC, they should apply to become a student at WWCC and obtain an ID number. Then complete the online “Request for CTE Dual Credit Transcription” form at www.wwcc.edu/forms.

High School Instructors Shall:

  1. Ensure the CTE class curriculum aligns with the corresponding CTE course at Walla Walla Community College.

  2. Provide participating students in the CTE course with the course competencies and requirements that align with the college-equivalent course.

  3. Hold students accountable for the same competency standard and course expectations as required by the college-equivalent course.

  4. Assist CTE class students register in the online Washington State Enrollment and Report System, SERS, https://www.ctesers.org/Home . After students have registered in the SERS program, assist the students with enrolling in the appropriate articulate course.

  5. Submit final grades for all students registered in the CTE Dual Credit course in the SERS system https://www.ctesers.org/Home no later than June 30th.

Articulation Review and Renewal:

Designated program facilitators, college administrators, college faculty, and/or high school instructors will meet at least annually to revise or discuss the articulation agreement. Revisions may be made via phone calls, correspondence or email.

SERS Registration Deadlines 2019-2023

Registration in the SERS program is required for all students participating in the CTE Dual Credit program. The two submission deadlines are designed to correspond with the semester system typically used in Washington Public Schools.

NOTE: Failure to register electronically using the statewide online SERS registration system AND returning the signed SERS papers to WWCC may prevent the College from granting transcribed dual credit.

Submission Window One October 15 to December 15

Submission Window Two January 15 to March 1

Under unusual circumstances (student transfers, etc.) and upon request of the instructor, exceptions to these deadlines may be allowed.

Grade Submission Deadlines 2019-2023

The earlier a final grade is determined and reported the easier it becomes to process all information. If your articulation is based on a semester course and you have determined the grade in January, you are requested to report those final grades at that time. Second semester grades and full year course grades may be submitted as soon as you have made a grade determination. The typical reporting period begins about May 1st and continues until approximately June 15th. Information received after June 30th may experience processing delays.

Statement of Articulation Agreement Acceptance

We hereby certify that we have reviewed the course competencies, understand the process for granting college credit through the CTE Dual Credit program and agree with provisions of the articulation program/course agreement. Additionally, we commit staff time and resources to ensure successful program implementation.
