Minutes October 28, 2010

The Seymour Board of Alderman met for a regular meeting at 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2014 in the Seymour City Hall Board Room, 123 West Market Street.

Meeting called to order by Mayor Dale Bailey.

Roll call: Grady Bennett, William Pogue, Dean Rowe, Jim Ashley.

Also present was City Administrator Ken Owens, Police Chief Ron Wright, City Clerk Leslie Houk.

Approval of Minutes

A motion was made by Pogue/Bennett to approve the minutes as written. Ayes: All. Nays: None.

Park Board

The park board presented quotes to the Board for dugout material and a mature tree to be planted by the concession stand. A motion was made by Rowe/Bennett to approve the park board’s request for a tree and new dugouts. Ayes: All. Nays: None.

Cemetery Mowing Bid Opening

Three bids were received for the Cemetery mowing. The first bid is Kropf Lawn Care for $1,100.00 per mowing. The second bid is from Lawson Lawn and Landscaping for $985.00 per mowing. The third bid is from Matthew’s Lawn and Landscaping for $965.00 per mowing. A motion was made by Bennett/Rowe to go with Matthew’s Lawn Service for $965.00 per mowing. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Abstain: Ashley.

Administrator’s Report-Ken Owens

The two new employees started Monday and are doing good.

Excel Tree Service has finished trimming trees.

Excel Excavating is doing a good job with the Center Street sewer project. They should finish up next week.

Ben is working on a tax issue with Glenwood Healthcare.

Mayor’s Report

Nothing to report.

Aldermen’s Report

Alderman Dean Rowe thinks that if we relook at the safe room guide lines, the safe room can be used for other activities.

Alderman Dean Rowe would like a representative from the City to attend the King’s Food Pantry ground breaking.

Alderman William Pogue asked when MODOT plans to fix the 4-way stop by Casey’s.

A motion was made by Bennett/Rowe to take a 10 minute break and go into executive session. The following roll call vote was recorded. Ayes: Bennett, Pogue, Rowe, Ashley. Nays: None.

The reason for executive session is real estate and personnel.

A motion was made by Bennett/Rowe to go back into open session. The following roll call vote was recorded. Ayes: Bennett, Pogue, Rowe, Ashley. Nays: None.

A motion was made by Rowe/Ashley to use Ottmar and Associates for the Engineer grant. Ayes: All. Nays: None

A motion was made by Pogue/Bennett to adjourn. Ayes: All. Nays: None.
