Purpose

2 Definitions

Organisational procedures refer to documents that include: worksite rules, codes, and practices; equipment operating instructions; manufacturer’s specifications; production specifications; documented quality management systems; and health and safety requirements, including the use of PPE.

Product weight specifications refer to specifications that are part of the company operating procedures.

PPE refers to personal protective equipment such as protective clothing, gloves, safety glasses, headwear, footwear, hearing protection, safety devices.


3 Assessment information

All activities and evidence must be in accordance with organisational procedures.

Performance criteria


1.1 Scale position is set up.


1.2 Scale level is adjusted.


1.3 Scale power supply is identified and confirmed.

Check calibration of scales.


Performance criteria


2.1 Scale zero is set.


2.2 Standard mass check is carried out.


2.3 Calibration weights are recorded.


2.4 Non-conformance factors affecting accurate calibration are identified, rectified, and/or reported.


Outcome 3


Adjust the weight of a poultry product so it meets the product specifications.


Performance criteria


3.1 Final weight of the poultry product is confirmed as being within the product weight specifications.


3.2 Weight adjustment of poultry product is carried out.
