Gypsy & Traveller Sites Issues and Options Document

WPD would like to make the following comments with respect to this consultation.

In the interest of safety and to allow unhindered access by WPD at all times, WPD require that gypsy and traveller sites are sited away from electricity substation sites and overhead lines.

WPD must also be consulted at the planning stage for any new sites to allow us to make any specific comments regarding the suitability of a site. There may also be underground cables present which are not immediately obvious and WPD would not want traveller sites over cable routes as these routes need to be kept clear of obstacles to allow access in emergency situations.
