Review of Goals for 2014/2015

1. Ensure every member of the Commission follows the Bagley-Keane Open Meeting Act.

2. Provide support for the development and implementation of curriculum frameworks in mathematics, English language arts/English language development, science, and history–social science; and support the implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and Next Generation Science Standards for California Public Schools, Kindergarten Through Grade Twelve (CA-NGSS).

3. Provide support for the planning and implementation of the 2015 English Language Arts/English Language Development (ELA/ELD) Primary Adoption of Instructional Materials.

4. Ensure that the Commission’s organization reflects the advisory needs of the State Board of Education (SBE).



Proposed Goals for 2015

  1. Ensure every member of the Commission follows the Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act.

  2. Provide support for the development of curriculum frameworks in science and history–social science; and support the implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and Next Generation Science Standards for California Public Schools, Kindergarten Through Grade Twelve (CA NGSS).

  3. Provide support for the rollout of the English Language Arts/English Language Development Framework and professional learning activities on the Mathematics Framework.

  4. Provide support for the 2015 English Language Arts/English Language Development Adoption of K-8 Instructional Materials.

  5. Ensure that the Commission’s organization reflects the advisory needs of the State Board of Education.
