From the Principal’s Desk

Thank you for coming along to the Parents Evening – your support of the school is appreciated.

SGB – School Governing Body

A new Governing Body will be elected in March – they will then stand for 3 years. If you are interested in finding out more information please speak to the office staff. The position of Treasurer will become vacant in March and we are looking for someone with financial skills who is willing to stand for election. SGB Meetings take place once a month in the evenings and there will also be a monthly Finance Committee Meeting which is normally in the mornings at 07:30. The Treasurer forms a vital part of ensuring that the school’s financial position remains healthy and that governance is followed. The first SGB Meeting takes place at 6pm on the 8^th February 2018.

Learner Support Meeting will be on Wednesday 31st January Grd 2 & 3 Classes. 18:00-1900.

This meeting is by invitation only. You will receive a note from the Learner Support Teachers if you need to attend

Please note the following:

Parents are asked to please wait under the waiting tree at the end of the teaching day and not wander up to the classrooms.

PVJ children may play on the top field and use that apparatus in the mornings before school. No one is to use the Playground equipment next to the waiting tree, even if a parent is watching them before or after school- this is for safety reasons. Only Aftercare children may use it in the pm’s under supervision.

Birthday cookies must be delivered before school or left in the office for collection if delivered later.

Traffic Safety

Please remember that you may not leave your car parked in the "drop off zone". Mr. Mothiba and Mr. Chuene cannot monitor this zone and keep a check on children crossing at the pedestrian crossing.

Hats

From Wednesday children without hats

will be required to sit under the tree in the playground during break time. Please ensure that they have their hats at school so they don’t miss playtime.

The PTA –CALLING FOR HELP!

The Parent Teacher association at Parkview Junior School works to bring parents closer to the school by involving them in general fundraising, social activities, school

Building and Development Projects. The PTA would like to invite the newly elected class parents and any parent interested in joining the PTA to our first PTA meeting on the 6^th February in the staff room. (You may park in the teachers parking bays). The meeting starts at 6pm. For more info contact Debbie Green 0825573761.

Pyramids with phone no's & email addresses

for your child's class will be sent home shortly. Please keep a copy at home/ or on your computer and at work in case we are required to use them in an emergency.

The class parent needs to be told of changes & the office.

Tuckshop 2018

Tuckshop starts this week Friday 2^nd Feb. Please contact Jenny if you are able to help. Jenny Booth [email protected]. Please complete your child’s blue slip and put in an envelope/small zip lock bag with the correct number of coupons (monetary value). Coupons may be purchased any day of the week.

Only coupons are accepted at tuck shop. Sheets of blue order forms will come home today and are marked 2018. There have been increases in some prices since last year

Extra Murals

All school extra murals start this week. Band has been moved to Tuesday at 07:15 and Choir on Thursday at 07:20. Please refer to the Revised Time Table. U9’s have an away cricket match against Blairgowrie and there is a Gala at Crawford Sandton on 2^nd Feb. Your children will receive a note if they are in the team.
