Update on Approved Courses and TMCs
Presently, 96 CCCs have courses that have been granted C-ID numbers; 2198 approved courses (includes TCSU courses) Top 4: 1) Santa Rosa (109) 2) American River (87) 3) Hartnell (59) 4) Sacramento City College (55) Welcome: Canada College; College of the Desert; Southwestern College; West Valley College 11 CSU Campuses have identified 996 courses as comparable to C-ID descriptors 212 C-ID descriptors have been approved – in 30 disciplines 24 TMCs; 2 new posted as final Philosophy and Spanish Draft TMCs posted: Radio/TV/Film Watch for TMC postings soon: Biology 514 AA-T and AS-T degrees approved in the Chancellor’s Office (as 12/03/12) REMINDER: When resubmitting courses with conditional approvals where the ONLY change requested was an update to textbooks, and you are using more current textbooks than are reflected on the course outline, please note the updated texts, authors and dates in the comment box on the resubmit page. In this case, you will not have to upload a new COR.
Recent research by C-ID: - 92% of approved CORs were approved on their initial submission for review; - the average time for courses which are approved on first submission (when there are adequate reviewers in place) is 25 days |
Discipline Status Report Anthropology – ANTH 130 Intro to Linguistic Anthropology (title modified from Intro to Language and Culture) posted as final Biology – FDRG members met in Dec. finalized descriptors to be posted soon: BIOL 115S; BIOL 125S; BIOL 130S; draft descriptors & draft TMC to also be posted soon Chemistry – CHEM/PHYS 140 just posted as final; draft CHEM descriptors to be posted soon: Intro to Chem; Intro Organic & Bio Chem; Survey of General, Organic & Bio Chem; and Quantitative Analysis Communication Studies – COMM 190 Intro to Persuasion will be posted as final soon Economics – draft TMC and descriptors still being considered by FDRG Engineering - 2 draft Model Curricula (with survey questions) and 11 descriptors posted for vetting until February 15. Note: we have many responses on the Model Curricula but need descriptor responses English – 3 draft descriptors (Literature in English I,II, III) posted for vetting until February 15 Journalism – FDRG will soon finalize JOUR 131 Student Media Practicum II Kinesiology – Movement/activity courses to be posted soon as final Mathematics – to be posted as final very soon: MATH 110 – Intro to Statistics MATH 120 – Math Concepts for Elem.
