POLICY STATEMENT: The Guelph Curling Club is a member-owned club and managed by an elected Board of Directors. It has a full-time Manager, Ice Technician and Catering Services. It has paid staff for office, bar, and ice duties. The banquet facility runs year-round and welcomes multiple functions annually.



PURPOSE:

The Guelph Curling Club is located at 816 Woolwich Street, in Guelph, Ontario. The club was established in 1838 and is the second oldest curling club in all of Ontario. We have been located at our present location since 1968. The Guelph Curling Club has a reputation of producing quality curlers and hosting quality events. As a club we have hosted many Ontario Curling Association Provincial Championships, including 2 Ontario Men’s Championships. Our club continues to maintain its place as one of the premier curling clubs in Ontario in regards to service, quality of ice surface and skill development for our game


The Guelph Curling Club currently has over 650 members with internal league play for Men, Ladies, Mixed, Junior and High School curlers on eight sheets of ice.

General Manager

The Club’s General Manager is responsible for managing the day to day operations, supervising all staff and upholding the Club’s policies, procedures and standards. Jointly with the Board of Director’s Committees, the GM ensures that the Club is pursuing the long term direction and goals set out by the Board of Directors.

Staff report to their direct supervisor and must adhere to and uphold the Club’s policies, procedures and standards. Each staff member is responsible for the specific tasks associated with the operation. These tasks are outlined in their job description
