PROVOST AND VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS TO DEPARTMENT

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

TO: Department Chairs

FROM: Anne E. Huot, Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs

RE: Requests for Full-Time Faculty Position – Fall 2009

It is time to begin the process of preparing our list of requests for full-time faculty lines for the 2008-2009 academic year. Please complete one copy of the attached form for each of your department’s requests for full-time faculty.

An electronic copy of the form is available on the College website by going to “Academic Affairs” and then “Forms” on the left sidebar.

Please note and honor the May 16 deadline for delivering the completed forms to your school dean’s office.

As usual we would like to work toward increasing our numbers of full-time tenure-track faculty at the College. Realistically, we cannot expect to make large gains in any one year. We have also requested additional full-time faculty lines over a five-year period in the Academic Affairs 2008-2009 Divisional Budget Unfunded Items request to the Budget & Resource Committee.

If you have any questions or concerns as you complete this task, please contact your school dean/unit head.
